Free IVF in the USA: Grants and Charities
In vitro fertilization (IVF) can be an expensive procedure, often costing between $10,000 to $15,000 per cycle in the United States, not including medications, consultations, and other related costs. For individuals or couples who are struggling with infertility and need financial assistance, there are several grants, charities, and programs offering support for free or discounted IVF treatments. Here are some options to explore:
The Baby Quest Foundation
Approximately one in eight women struggle with infertility. Baby Quest is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. The Baby Quest Foundation provides financial assistance through fertility grants to women who cannot afford the high costs of IVF (in vitro fertilization), gestational surrogacy, egg and sperm donation, egg freezing, and embryo donation.
Am I eligible for Baby Quest funding?
Eligibility for funding depends on the applicant's circumstances (i.e., underlying cause of infertility, financial situation, and other life factors) and whether they meet the requirements listed below. Please note that Baby Quest does not cover treatment that has already begun.
We strive to be racially, sexually, and geographically diverse. Singles and couples (gay and straight) are eligible to apply for funding, regardless of age.
How to Apply?
Baby Quest accepts applications for grants a few times a year. The application process involves submitting medical records, a personal statement, and details about financial need.

Am I eligible for Baby Quest funding?
The Tinina Q. Cade Foundation's Family Building Grants™ provide up to $10,000 per sponsored family to cover domestic adoption and medical fertility treatment costs. The only restrictions to apply are:
You must have a doctor's diagnosis of infertility.
You must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
How to Apply?
Grants are awarded twice a year (Spring and Fall), and the number of grant applications, as well as the grant amounts, is dependent on the success of the Cade Foundation's fundraising campaign (i.e. the more we raise, the more we can give). All of our grants are Family Building Grants, but we have special pools of funds reserved for the "Savannah Grant" and the "Dr. Stephen Greenhouse Grant" that are only available to Shady Grove Fertility patients undergoing IVF. EMD Serono generously provides the Medication Grant.
For applicants interested in the Savannah Grant and the Dr. Stephen Greenhouse Grant, please complete the regular Family Building Grant Application. All Shady Grove Fertility Center patients who submit a Family Building Grant Application are automatically entered into the application pool for the general Cade Foundation Family Building Grant as well as the Savannah Grant and the Dr. Stephen Greenhouse Grant.
